Behind the Screen
As a design editor for the Montana Kaimin, I design 4 and 6 tabloid newspaper pages each week, ranging from single page layouts to multipage spreads and cover designs. After the page is designed, I follow it though the editing process where the page goes through 4 rounds of edits before it is finalized. I help proofread and copy edit as well when needed.
Capstone: Native News Honors Project
I served as design editor for the 2023 edition of the Native News Honors Project, part of a capstone course with the University of Montana School of Journalism, under professors Jeremy Lurgio and Christine Trudeau, and print editor Griffen Smith and photo editor Ridley Hudson.
